Text Box: Welcome to the home of Little Handfuls! These gorgeous little creations are made of quality wools from New Zealand and around the world, in wonderful colours and textures! I strive to find wools which are special and usually opt for those dyed privately so that my bears and friends can be truly One-Of-A-Kind! You can place an order for a Little Handful of your own, or visit the galleries to see who may be up for adoption at the moment! Text Box: About the Artist My name is Liza Adams, I live in New Zealand and I am 30 odd years old. I have 3 gorgeous children, Samuel is my eldest, he loves soccer and computers and he is now 12. Amber is my middle girl and our little ballerina, she is now 9. And Rebecca is new at school at 5 yrs old and just loving it! We are a family of redheads and each of us enjoys a firey temper to prove it! We live in the town of Hamilton which is in the North Island, and while I work part-time in a ladies fashion store I somehow manage to squeeze some extra hours out of the day (or night) in which to create my little friends. I find that creating keeps my hands and my mind happy! How did I get into needle felting? I went to a local craft show, and there was Barbara Allen (our world famous needle felting author) with her stall of kits and books! It all started from there, I brought my first little kit, then more wools, then her book and I was pretty much addicted after that! That was about 7 years ago and I find I am constantly learning new things, coming up with new ideas and being inspired by interesting new wools and colours! I exhibited my work in 2006 at my first Doll and Teddy Bear Show here in Hamilton. It was a great experience and I met lots of lovely people from other stall holders to the public in general! I have done that show 4 years in a row now and I have won 7 blue ribbons in 2008 and 6 in 2009. I did our biggest craft show in New Zealand, Dunkleys, a few years ago and again this year in 2011. For 3 years I taught night classes through our schools, I don’t know how many lovely ladies I taught to needle felt little bears, but it was so much fun! I loved to share my passion for this craft with other crafty people, unfortunately funding was lost through our education system, I hope to run more private classes of my own though!
